Graduation Requirements
Total required credits: 130 credits
- General Education Courses (common, core, major-related): 35 credits
- Basic Major: 42 credits
- Intensive Major: 36 credits (Specified majors are available only for the students in intensive major program. Upon completion of 36 credits or more in each field, the title of the specified major is designated.)
Graduation Thesis/Comprehensive Exam: Graduation Thesis (Review Article or Experimental Article – upon the Academic Advisor’s discretion)
Department (School/Division) Internal Regulations:
- In the School of Biosystem and Biomedical Science, specified majors are offered to only intensive majors. The details are in accordance with the “College of Health Science Regulations on Specified Majors.”
- For students who entered Korea University between 2006 and 2016, those who earned at least 42 credits for major required courses and major elective courses, are acknowledged to complete the major basic course. This rule is applicable to basic majors, intensive majors, specified majors, and multiple majors. However, they must earn the minimum required credits from their respective majors. (This rule takes effect in March 1, 2017.)

- Completion of foreign language (English) mediated courses: 5 courses; 3 courses for the transfer students with diplomas
- Completion of Freshman Seminar
- Completion of the “Human Rights and Gender Equality” (at least once a year, four times during the enrollment period) – This requirement is applied to students who enrolled in 2017 and onward.
Official Korean Language Scores
- Required for non-Korean students whose mother tongues are not Korean (English or other foreign languages)
- How to meet the requirement: Achieve TOPIK Level 4 or higher or complete the Korean Language Course Level 4 or higher at the Institute of Foreign Language Studies at Korea University
Graduation Requirements for Internal Transfer Students
- From the list of the completed major-related general education courses, GENERAL BIOLOGY AND PRACTICE Ⅱ, GENERAL BIOLOGY LAB Ⅱ, GENERAL CHEMISTRY Ⅱ, and GENERAL CHEMISTRY LABORATORY Ⅱ are excluded from the major-related general education courses. (Total 8 credits)
